In my letter posted about a week ago, I outlined a scheduled Cracker Barrel with our District 16 Legislators set to take place this Saturday in Parker. I have been informed that it has been cancelled (with no alternative date set as of now) due to an inaugural party for Governor Rhoden that will be taking place in Pierre on that same day. If the event is rescheduled I will send out further information at that time. Please continue reaching out to them with questions/concerns/etc. Thank you!

Hello, I wanted to send out a quick update on the local roads and plans for school the remainder of today, Monday 2/3. The Marion School will NOT be dismissing early, but there will be no afternoon activities. From the information available, the mist/moisture is supposed to end around 2:00PM. When I was out driving roads here a little bit ago, they were somewhat slick but there was no moisture falling at that time. Also, as I was coming back to town a plows were already out treading the roadways. It's my hope that a normal dismissal will continue allowing road treatments to occur lessening their current (somewhat) slippery conditions. Activities after school will not occur due to Academy and Freeman Public closing at 1:30 today. Please drive safe everyone and thank you!

Please see the attached letter...I encourage you to be active in the legislative process and appreciate everyone's support for public education! Feel free to reach out for further discussion or questions. Thank you! --Brian Brosnahan, Superintendent of the Marion School District

The Marion School has seen a rise in illness over the past week or so. Absences today are down from other days this week, which is a positive sign, yet the local health clinic did reach out to inform us that they are seeing a rise in influenza and other respiratory illnesses in the community. They sent us this letter that we wanted to share...We appreciate the transparency with this letter as well as the great tips and assistance for those possibly experiencing symptoms. Stay healthy everyone and we hope you all have a fantastic weekend!
